This website has been created to support fundraising efforts surrounding the Afghan Women Solidarity Concert, an inspiring event taking place on International Women’s Day in Belfast with partners across all sectors. Together amplifying the voices of our sisters in Afghanistan.

We are inviting all women and non-binary identities from all cultural backgrounds for a moment in time to take on the identity of an Afghan woman.

Why?

The regime in Afghanistan is erasing women from visible existence and taking away all their rights. Even the right to speak. Recently a new order by the regime is to board up kitchen windows so women can not be seen. Our sisters in Afghanistan are asking that people challenge this and make them visible and heard. Music and creative expression is also banned in Afghanistan and girls are not allowed to go to school.
